[OM] macro doubler

I very gingerly attempted to mate a 90/2 macro to a 2X-A and discovered that
the 90/2 has a tiny metal tab that seems to have been specifically designed to
prevent use of the lens with the 2X-A. I infer the reason for that is that if
the lens were to be focused at infinity, the rear element would come into
contact with parts in the 2X-A, a potential disaster. (I think older lenses
like the 55/1.2 do not have this tab feature).

I very gingerly tested the 90/2 with a Tokina doubler and it seems to work
without any contact occurring. I think it yields a 180/4 1:1 macro.

OK, am I being really stupid here and should I cease and desist this behavior
immediately?
Or, am I onto something useful?
