Warren,
   I think you're on to something. at a slow shutter speed with an open
aperature, the shutter opens fully.   However, at slightly faster speeds,  it
seems like one of the leafs might be a bit sluggish. The light patern is a
diamond shape, elongated toward the left side of the camera.   hard to say for
sure..  I guess it would be worth getting it checked out, since I only payed
$7.50 for it.
