Have not bought from Australia, but have from Canada and Great Britain.
Bought International Money Orders at my credit union for a dollar. Worked
just fine. Had to specifically ask for an international one otherwise they
would have issued a domesting one.
BTW, the USPS _is_ working on more agreements with other nations to expand
their international money order, but that doesn't help your immediate problem.
