Sure, the real solution would be to buy all of them, and don't forget the 
90mm... *GRINN*
But there is no general advice. You must find out what fit
best for your personal need. 

I wan`t to put your attention to keep in mind what other lenses you use.
Especially your next lenses around (the next one shorter and the longer one)

There is not too much use for prime lenses which are too close to each other.
That was my experience having 85 and 135mm. The 135 wasn`t too useful with a
85 mm, so I switched to 200mm and was happy.
 On the other side there was not too much left to do for 50mm lenses and I 
switched to 35/40mm.
So I think that if you already work with a 50mm lens, the 100mm would be a more 
useful addition,
 expecially when you plan to get a 35-70 or even 80mm zoom lens.
