I think the key to low cost a Western Union is the show up in person with cash.
I did a
transaction for Alfa Romeo Parts in a hurry within the US (TX to NY); but did
not want to leave
my house. I figured master card would be easy just charge my card. I gulped
when the charge was
$40 on $300 and it did not occur to me 'til later, the surcharge was for the
master card
transaction. Also ran into the problem the guy who wanted to pick up the money
did not know how
my name was listed on my master card and we had to email back and forth until
WUnion gave up the
money.
