Agree. Only superseeded by the iS-3000/G40 combo.    ;-)  (Sorry, couldn't help
it)
This kind of performance is not bad for an AF camera that was released back in
1992. Imagine what could have happened if Oly had continued to refine/develop 
the
iS-3 / iS-3000 during the 90's.    :-(

What surprise me though is when items from the iS series (like the converters 
and
the G40) are used or modified to be used in the digital line, and 
"knowledgeable"
digital users then claim that they were specifically made for the digitals.

Or when the camera starts to rewind after the last frame. I guess there is no 
way
you can override the automatic film rewind, except maybe by turning the camera
off. But then you can't get the film out...

So far I've only used NiMH batteries in my C-900Z digital, since they really are
the only type that can be used (i.e. if you don't want to exchange/reload the
batteries every time you've used up the memory card). I'll try them in the G40
some time.
