[OM] Saved by a Winder

Subject: [OM] Saved by a Winder

I was shooting some macro this morning; not "serious macro" as I was only
using the 90/f2. (Sorry, C.H., I couldn't resist teasing. I rarely go to
magnification ratios greater than 1:5, so even by C.H. Ling's standards, I
seem to use the 90/f2 in the range for which it is optimized. And I have
*no* complaints about that!)

Suddenly, after shooting frame 17 the winding lever on my OM-2S advanced
about 1/2 way to the next frame and then it jammed. I'd had something
similar happen last winter with my beloved OM-1, so "shucks and darn" and
similar words may have passed through my lips. :/

I removed the film and feeling I had nothing to lose, I put a winder on the
OM-2S. It advanced the camera, and I succeeded in firing off a few shots,
so I tried manually advancing, and that worked too. I reloaded the film
and continued shooting to the end of the roll with no problems.

Anybody ever have a similar experience? Should I assume my camera is
"healed" or should I assume this is only a temporary reprieve?
