I haven't purchased the Trekker yet, but it has tremendous appeal to me.
The only advantage I see to a conventional camera bag is event shooting
where you use the bag more for a work space than transportation. I won't
get rid of my camera bags because of that, but they are a royal pain when
in the field. I hate trying to jump ditches and streams with a shoulder bag.

I have an interesting fannypack that I bought from Cannondale for mountain
biking. It ends up being an excellent "camera bag" as it has one larger
padded/compartment that holds an OM body with small lens like the 24/2.8
with a few rolls of film and other odds and ends, two zippered pockets
which will hold my 100/2.8 and extension tubes and finally an insulated
waterbottle holder that will just barely hold either my 200/2.8 or the
Tokina 35-70/2.8 zoom. It also has a small compartment that holds a few
keys and extra batteries. This bag is great for when I'm wanting to go
light but not leave anything critical behind. I typically carry my
backpacking tripid with that kit too. Best of all, it works well for
bicycling! Your lower back can get a bit warm, but.... I've gotten some
strange stares passing through Heathrow with this bag--from the security
folks.

My new "walkabout" kit looks something like this:
Olympus XA loaded with B&W
OM-2S with winder loaded with Fuji Velvia or ProviaF
24/2.8
100/2.8 (with lens hood)
14 and 25mm extension tubes (non-auto)
Tissue and blower
Spare batteries
Spare film
Backpacking tripod (davis&sanford) modified to work as a shoulder stock and
tripod

To this I might add one or more of the following depending on photo
possibilities:
OM-1md
35/shift
35-70/2.8
200/2.8
