Re: [OM] Auto Focus 35-70 f/4 lens on ebay, w/OMPC

This was a lens made for the OM-F (a.k.a. OM-30) and is called the
35-70mm f/4 AF.  It is a "semi" AF lens requiring the use
of a button on the side to activate the AF feature.  If you look at
one you will see it is bulky; it is also heavy tipping the scales at over
a pound (550g) _without_ the three AAA cells required to power it. 
It was one of the very first AF lenses made and is slow to focus by
today's standards.  This AF feature does not work very well in lower
light levels (below 5 EV).  It lacks an IR assist found on most
current AF bodies and lenses which allows them to work better in low
light.

Although an uncommon lens compared to other OM lenses in its class
(non-AF 35-70 f/4, f/3.5~4.5, and f/3.5~4.8) it is not highly valuable,
nor is it as rare as the 8mm fisheye or 40mm pancake.  I (MHO) find
it more a curiosity and an interesting historical item more than a
practical "user" lens.

The lens will mount and work with _any_ OM mount body.  The
pushbutton on the side can activate the lens' AF feature on _any_ OM
mount body;  all the AF electronics are in the lens.
