After the feedback I got from the list (and the lens test), I felt very
positive about it and based on :-

1) a 2nd hand Zuiko 35-80/2.8 is rare, I've been going lens shopping in
the
past 3 months in Tokyo and this is the first time I've come across
it.
2) the competitor was a EOS 28-70mm F2.8L (another "one of Canon's
finest")
but I already have that range covered with a 28-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS
USM.
And only wanted it for the shallower DOF and for "completeness" as I
already have the 17-35mm F2.8L, and 70-200mm F2.8L. In the end,
though
it's cheaper than any other 28-70mm F2.8L's I've seen around Tokyo,
the
price wasn't as crash hot from eBay's perspective.

Thus, the Zuiko was a more practical purchase than the EOS, at least for
my photography. Also if I don't like it, there appears to be a demand
for
it (on the list, at least).

[Aside]
Zuikos are holding their prices *very* well for a manual focus lenses.
This is more expensive than Canon's equivalent model. After all this,
I'm still looking for a Zuiko 21/2 more than ever now since my 28/2.8
is giving aperture problems.
