I agree 100%.  I have a fixed lens Stylus Epic Deluxe quartz date that I use
any time I want to be inconspicuous.  I've been very pleased with my results
from this one.  I took it skiing at Wolf Creek Pass, Colorado, this spring,
and didn't have to worry about destroying a SLR (or falling over on it and
causing permanant bodily harm).  Plus, it's weather resistant.
