[OM] Daylight tungsten bulbs

For a year or two I've been aware of 'Daylight' bulbs sold for use at night
by painters and embroiderers, but at a ridiculously high price from craft
shops for a normal bulb with a transparent blue coating. I was interested to
know whether they would be good for close-ups indoors, for filling in
against window daylight, etc., but at over seven quid - around twenty times
the price of a bulb with a red coating, I wasn't THAT interested. However, I
asked about these bulbs at a market stall specialising in electrical goods
at sensible prices and sure enough, he had 100w General Electric (made in
Hungary) ones for 1.49 UKP, one of which I bought. He said he also stocks
60w versions.

With daylight streaming through the window and this bulb illuminating just
the jetsam on my computer desk, I took a picture of my room with the last
frame of Superia 400 in my Ricoh GR1 and the resultant print shows no colour
casts from the bulb. I shall experiment further with the OM-2n but it
appears to be possible to mix lighting without having to resort to the
comparative unpredictability of fill-in flash.
