Well, now that it has slipped through my fingers, would anyone out there
like to claim the coup? Late last week I came across the following ad in
the photo.net classifieds:
Olympus OM 40mm f2.0 $125
Om 40mm 2.0 pancake with ding on filter thread, glass perfect. Caps.
Also 135mm macro and 65~116 tube $500
The classified was placed 6/1. At the time I saw it on 6/7 there were no
bids. I non-chalantly e-mailed to inquire about the filter thread ding and
to ask if it was still available. No reply. On Friday (6/9), I was a
little bolder and let on as how I would probably be willing to meet his $125
request if other than the filter thread the lens was in good shape. I even
said that I could have a money order in his hands within days. His reply
came this weekend. Too late. He didn't say when or to whom or for how
much, but it's gone.
So, there's my side of the story. Was one of you the lucky one or should we
be looking for this on eBay shortly?
