It is also a cheap insurance policy. Who is going to steal a 20+ year old
banged up camera and try to pawn it. Of course I'm not saying to
intentionally beat up your camera body. :-0<
Hmm... how 'bout taking a perfectly good, oh, say, OM-3Ti and customizing it
with lotsa epoxy putty to create a personalized handgrip.
Or, better yet, maybe there's a market for the kinda latex appliances
special fx crews use in the movies. Detachable and reusable "dents". Like
fake vomit or doggy doo.
Speaking of which, there are sprays that can actually make something smell
bad. Soak the leatherette in it. Replace with new leatherette if you ever
decide to sell.
Gotta be creative where theft deterrence is concerned.
