Jonny -- Sounds like your camera has probably had the upgrade to the OM4T
circuit board. I don't think any plain 4's did the auto shutoff on the
battery check. The silver caps are an "upgrade" too, I think as there were
problems with electrical contact on the battery cover using the (painted)
black covers.
