Not so new a twist at all, actually. The use of a "user" 50/1.8 as a loupe is
something that's been encouraged on this List from time to time by many a
person (suspiciously, all of the people promoting this use have, like, twenty
of the silly things, fifteen of them with "cleaning marks" on them; I've always
wondered -- what were they "cleaned" with? Steel wool?)
