 The condition was marked E+, which the owner says it means "like new."

The rating system sounded a little sketchy: NIB; New; Like New; E+; E++; Ex; VG etc. It reminds me of what an auctioneer told me about antique china; if
you're the seller the china is mint, but if you're the bidder it's chipped
all to hell.
===========================
A little clarification:

NIB = I took it out, played with it and put it back in the box

New = I took it out, played with it and lost the box

Like New = I took it out, played with it and dropped it on the carpet

E++ = I took it out, used it for several years, dropped it in the dirt only once and cleaned it off

E+ = I took it out, used it for several years, usually left it on the ground while changing lenses and once it got stepped on by a wide receiver running out of bounds

E = Same as above, still has some turf in it
