I got a chance to photograph just such a rescue back in October '81, the worst/best season of flash floods in my recollection around this part of Texas. A fellow from my town got stranded in his pick'emup trying to cross a low spot covered in rushing water. Managed to save him. I hope I still have those negs around.

For now Eagle Mountain Lake is so low there's little chance of flooding anytime soon. OTOH, it's made for some interesting photos lately. One of my favorite lens test spots too. A neighbor (in the sense that his place is within view) has a statue of a little boy sitting on his dock. I used it to test Fav Viv on my OM-1 (obligatory content) and will test a couple more lenses soon. I'm acquiring quite a collection of dockboy photos.

No reason to resist, John. I've often wanted to try that long exposure technique on flowing water. Problem is we're a bit lacking in flowing water hereabouts.

Flash floods, Lex! And we've had plenty here this spring...Only problem is, some idiot is always driving into the picture trying to cross the torrent. But then stick around and shoot the helicopter rescue!
