Hi George,
John H. may have some better advice but, according to my trusty Tomosy
book a common failing of the OM-10 (presumably the OM-G is the same) is
a slipping roller clutch such that two strokes are required to cock the
shutter. It's possible that an internal part of the clutch assembly is
broken but more likely that it just needs cleaning along with sanding of
the internal surface of the gear cup to reduce slippage. Don't know
whether this also resolves the shutter firing on the wind stroke or why
this should happen.

You MIGHT be able to fix this yourself with complete instructions as in
Tomosy. It's fairly easy to get the whole clutch assembly out.
However, the disassembly of the roller clutch mechanism for cleaning and
sanding can leave you with springs and gears flying all over the place
if you're not careful here. Consider carefully then mail to John H. :)

Well,
Since this thread started, my OM-G just started doing almost the same
thing.
After taking a shot, it takes two strokes to cock the shutter- But the
FIRST
stroke causes the shutter to fire again as you advance the wind lever.
Is
there anything I can check such as a gear or a lever in the mechanism,
or
does the entire wind mechaniasm need replacing? Thanks for any
assistance
