FWIW: Dealer cost on the 28-48mm S Zuiko was $169.95, back in '84 and
'85. It was marketed at the same time as the slighter wider range Canon
FD 28-55mm f/3.5~4.5, at a lowest dealer cost of $119.00 I've sold the
latter at $169 in 9+ condition. Canon was well into their strategy
(continued today) of flooding the market with every variation of lens
and camera body, so that the competition couldn't find a niche with
something that Canon didn't have.
