Marlin,

Focusing is one of the hardest aspects of astrophotography.

One simple approach is to use a Beattie IntenScreen or Olympus 1-8 and a
Varimagni Finder.

Subject: [OM] "Newbie" w/OM-1... Focus Screen is DIM ! !

Just got into OM-1 photography via an 8" telescope (my friend wanted
to 'dump' his {set up for photography} 'scope and I bought it)...

My first two rolls of Fuji 400 turned out OK {both were daylight: 1st
shot through the 'scope @ prime-focus and second with the 50mm/1.8 lens)
but I had a 'devil of a time' seeing objects on focal screens...

Is there an easy way (no tear-down) to learning which focal screen
came with the used body? Are there 'secrets' to getting 'clearer
images' (I seem to only see the focus in the area in the split-prism,
dominantly
its outer circle).

Thanks for putting up with another "newbie".
