I did it the other way round, I had a 85/2 for over 10 years, used it
a lot in the pass. I got my 100/2 two year after the 85/2 and then the
90/2 at the same year. When I found the resolution of 90/2 is poorer
than my 100/2 I sold it to my friend.
One year later my friend sold all his OM and change to Contax, the
lens is back to me again. How to decide which lens to use? For serious
landscape and taking party photo for the company, I will use 100/2, it
always delivery the best results. When I do business trip or travel
with lots of photo gear, I will bring the 85/2 as it let me have more
room for other lenses. For local travel where I think there will be
chance to use macro I will take 90/2.
You always need different outfit for different situation and probably
need all Zuikos to fill all you need :-) Seriously if you got a 90/2
you can forget about the 85/2 (if weight is not a problem to you). If
your aim is to buy a lens for portrait the 85/2 and 100/2 would be
better as they are cheaper and performs very well. If you need to
shoot macro, the 50/3.5 is an excellent performer in terms of quality
and price.
