Hey, Chris - TTL metering should compensate for any light loss from using
extension tubes, teleconverters, etc. Older cds meters tend to respond more
slowly as slow lenses or light-stealing extension tubes are used, so give
the needle time to settle in.
The instructions for manually calculating apertures are for use with
supplemental light like flash. Or, if you chose to use a handheld meter
instead of TTL.

I also bought a set of no-name manual extension tubes for my Olympus
outfit. The tubes came with a very brief instruction sheet that says I

to compensate for the aperature when using the tubes....
I thought that the Olympus measures the exposure off the film plane at the
time the shutter triggers??? If so, do I *really* need to worry about all
this exposure compensation stuff, or will my faithful Oly stuff figure it
all
out for me???
