My winter sport is rugby, which is similar in topography. I use the
250/2 with a 1.4x converter on it (equivalent to 350/2.8) until the
light gets too bad when the converter comes off to give me another
stop. It's a perfect combo. No depth of field so it snaps into focus -
wonderfully so with a 2-4 screen - and under the right circumstances
it isolates the subject beautifully.
