Tom:

I have a Tokina 35-70/3.5-4.6 zoom paired with a Tokina 70-210/4.5-5.6
zoom. The 35-70 is three inches long. The 70-210 is three and a half inches
long. Both use 52mm filters. They are a delightful pair of lenses to work
with
and deliver sharp, bright, moderately contrasty pics. (Yes, they both have
three screw lens mounts, Tom. They won't shear the tip off the lensmount
spot button on my OM-4.) <g> Just spent an afternoon taking photographs
with the Tokinas and my OM-2 with a Winder 2. I goofed though. I left my
newly
acquired Vivitar 2X macro converter at home. I really wanted to see how that
would work with the Tokinas. Oh well, it wasn't a total loss. I have an
excuse
for the next photo excursion. ;-)

Can't wait to get one of those newly conditioned OM-4s in from John H. Then
I'll give the converter a try with the 35-70/3.5-4.5 and 75-150/4 Zuiko
zooms.
I'm curious to see what it does with the 300/5/6 telephoto also. And the 1.8
and 1.4 normal lenses, and the 50/3.5 macro, and...and.... Ain't life grand
sometimes?

On the other hand...the meter on my trusty OM-1 companion of 26+ years
failed to respond a couple of days ago. A fresh battery failed to resuscitate
it. Guess it's time for the OM Hospital and some TLC. Hope it's just a
corroded
wire or some such. Had that once before about five years ago. Well, it needs
a
CLA and foam replacement anyway. And might as well get John H's battery
circuit adaptation while I'm at it. The old fella (the OM-1, not John H.)
deserves
it. If anybody on the list has any extra money they don't need, I'm
volunteering
to be a recipient. (Hey! Would you rather it be me or IRS? I think all
Zuikoholism
related donations are tax-exempt.) (;o>)
