[OM] lens star test (50/1.2)

Hi Matt,

I have never used an 50/1.2 for astrophotography (or even had one in my
hands I think), but I'm very interested in how different lenses perform for
astrophotography. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take astronomy pictures
within a year (there are hardly any dark spots left in The Netherlands), but
I will look in my archives for good examples taken with different lenses
(mainly the 50/1.4, 80-200 mm F2.8 (Tokina), 17 mm F3.5 (Tokina)).
BTW: you've got excellent pictures on your site!

Bye,

Erwin Voogt

PS the Uranus+Neptune stereophoto is taken with the Tokina zoom wide open:

A good performer for astronomy pictures! (and, of course, "normal"
photography)

Would any owner of a 50/1.2 like to see that lens star tested?

I am conducting a series of tests to see how OM lenses perform for
astrophotography. The tests are run with a variety of lenses at various
f-stops for both long and short exposures. I suspect that the 50/1.2 will be
the best normal lens at f/2.8 in terms of aberrations and vignetting.

Please email me if you are interested.
