Spotted in Jessops in Wolverhampton over the weekend - an OM4 for sale at
£150.00.
I casually asked the assistant for a look and did the 30 second test. Don't
think she had a clue what I was doing, and I thought it best not to explain.
Towards the end of the 30 secs, the beep went from continuous to
intermittent for a few seconds, then stopped altogether. Started again when
I reset the lever back to battery check, so the battery seemed OK.
I can only deduce that this camera appears to have had the circuit update,
unlike mine:-( MXV are currently advertising one for £299.00!
Cosmetically the camera seems OK. I didn't have time to check the shutter
etc - there wasn't a lens on the camera. Looked like there was tape on the
top corners to prevent brassing, judging by the sticky residue that remains.
If anyone in the UK, or anywhere else for that matter, is interested I will
gladly go back and have another look. Or, as everyone here probably knows,
Jessops will transfer stuff from one branch to another for interested
buyers, free of charge, with no obligation.
