One-hourlabs are notorious for delivering tinted prints from T400CN - sometimes greenish, other times bluish or reddish. The sepia they sometimes get can be nice, but not always what you want.

Try Ektamax prints for best results. Some pro labs with quickie processors can do these for you. The paper is not archival - it's primarily intended for prepress use - but will last a few years without fading. And it scans very well.

It can also be printed to Polycontrast RC altho' the results for me haven't been quite as good as Ektamax - not quite as sharp. Supposedly Ilford XP2 prints better to Polycontrast or other b&w papers since it lacks the heavy orange mask on T400CN and Kodak B&W+.

...once I return to SC I will ask my lab
how they process their T400CN. The first roll they developed for me had a
green tint to the prints, since then, they have a true (at least to my eyes)
B&W appearance ven though it's printed on color paper.
