Dear Zuiks

I have a feeling that that was for the US market some years ago (?). I have never driven a Porsche (regrettably), but many of my colleagues were driving Boxsters (a "cheap" model) with no complaints in 1998 and 1999.

For my part, OM carriers have varied between Mercedes CLK, E300TD and A190 over the last 3 years. However the tax regime is different in my new job in the Netherlands and I will have to stick with my latest purchase, a ML270CDi. No this was not intended to start the SUV thread, but to get away from the US-made cars... ;-) ;-).

Marc, Gary et al: How did the Eurotreff go?

Chris

LOL yeah porche is known for that too. What wealthy people will accept just to
display the proper nameplate on their car! It's obviously not the speed that
they need.

Speaking of plastic, lemme tell ya 'bout the time I drove a new Porsche 911
from Houston to Cleveland ... nah, let's not. Suffice it to say, if I'd
driven from Houston to Minneapolis I'd have arrived in nothing but the
 world's best-handling chassis and a great air-cooled engine. Non-essential
pieces of that car were falling off at the rate of about one per mile. It
was built like the world's most expensive Volkswagen. Reminded me of some
cameras I've seen (tho' not any Olympus or Canons).
