As usual my "method" is nontechnical. I take photos while bracketing
exposures, taking notes on exposure and flash settings, distances,
surroundings, ambient light, etc. Then I eyeball the results. If they look
right, that's what I use. If not, I try again.
Since I tend to use few different films it's fairly easy to remember how to
nudge the flash in the desired exposure direction.
