This immediately reminded me of those ads that have been running in the photo
rags of a girl with one leg on crutches that have the tag line can a photo stop
a war? Well, I'm not sure. The people who planted the mine she stepped on are
long gone. But perhaps the photo might influence more activism toward a mine
ban. Certainly, Eddie Addams famous shot had a profound impact on the Vietnam
war. There is an interesting story about how that shot affected the people
involved, BTW.
