[OM] Zuiko 90mm/2 Macro - what a piece of work

I have had a Tamron 90/2.5 macro for a few years, and have been extremely
pleased with the images it has provided me. It is a newer lens, and like
most these days is constructed partly of polycarbonate where such a choice
is reasonable. I always thought of it as a 'light in weight' lens - easy to
carry etc.

Recently I had the good fortune to acquire a Zuiko 90/2 macro (yes, I was
infected by others on this list!) and sat down to compare the two
physically - no images back yet for the Zuiko.

Imagine my amazement to find that the Zuiko, almost a full stop faster and
not made with plastic, weighs only about 70 grams more (490g for the Tamron,
560g for the Zuiko). And, the overall length is less though the girth is
greater than the Tamron. Things like this serve to remind what great
engineering went into the OM line. Wish they were still doing it....
