in other words. I'd use Araldite (I've no idea what JB Weld is but it
sounds useful)

JBWeld is an industrial epoxy that is used for all sorts of repairs (including engine block cracks...they advertise this anyway...). I first used it to repair metal objects that had no contact points (it was a stripped, corroded threaded coupling) and needed something that would withstand high temp (it was a pot lid..no photography, just cooking). I've used it successfully for all sorts of stuff, and it is relatively easy to work with. The last repair I made was to my digital OM plastic body...it was a very small shard, but an essential part of the flange that holds the battery case shut. It is constantly under pressure, and has held up for months now after the repair. You can build up areas with it, and fill space with it. It dries a very dark grey which avoids the big ugly in most cases. It can be found in hardware stores.

If my T-32 does this, I will fill the crack with JBW. It does not run (thick-gooey stuff) and stays workable for long enough to play with. If you wait until it begins to set, then some fine-tuning is possible.

Hope that helps.

Chris
