OK,

I went to check out the OM2N and winder.

The Winder is Exc+++ but he wouldn't part with it alone, only in combination
with the 2N body.

The OM2-N is in EXC external and mechanical cond as well, but when I looked
through the VF, toward the bottom there seemed to be a largish crack ... all
you older experts, what is this, because the guy showed me some photos he'd
taken and - though I can obviously never know for sure - they looked like
familiar Oly exposure curves for straightforward centreweighted shots, no
flash. Also, the camera's knobs and things, film rails, adv lever, all
performed as smoothly as if it really had been cleaned and serviced as he
said. The body in every other aspect really was in good nick.

Particularly John H's opinion would be valued here - what is cracked? I
looked at the focussing screen and it seemed fine; could it be one of the
pentaprism mirrors? If it actually has no bearing on the images produced, or
is cheaply repairable, this deal is still a bargain and I want to follow
through, But if he's pitching me a dud, I need to know. I have seen an OM1
Black in a Cash Converters that I would have bought ages ago if it didn't
have the exact same crack visible in the VF.

People's thoughts?
