Hi David,

I agree with almost everything Tom says above (including the snipped stuff).
One reason to consider the OM2000 as more than a curiosity however is that it
is less likely to freeze up on you in the winter -- more of a battery/power
issue with the OM-2S and OM-4(x) than anything else. If you live in a cold
climate and like to shoot outdoors, you'll appreciate the reliability of the
OM2000 or a good OM-1(x). These are also situations in which a lot of
incompatible accessories are less important.

With the OM2000, however, I think you will wish to modify the shutter/meter
lock, since this improves the usability of the camera quite a bit. This is a
very easy modification.

I love my OM-4T and my 3 (!) OM-2S's, but I take a lot of pleasure in using
the OM-1 for handheld shooting all-year round (mainly with 400 ASA print film)
and the OM2000 in a cold weather setup. I just don't like having to think
about whether the batteries will make it through the next frame, and of course
the shots I get with OM2000 are as good as those taken with OM-2S or OM-4T. I
take it everywhere I want a mechanical backup, and I use it almost exclusively
out of doors when winter rules.
