If I were limited to a single focal length lens, I would pick the 50/3.5
macro. It is very sharp at f8 and is good for landscape, nature and people.
Also you have the bonus of the macro as well. As to a zoom, I would pick (not
having the 35-80/2.8 Zuiko) the Tamron 35-105/2.8. The Photodo tests have it
as about as sharp as the Zuiko 35-80. The only problem is that there is no
macro function on this lens. But the 35-105 range gives you great landscape,
people, portrait, nature, crowds, journalism, etc. capabilities.
