Dear All,

Many thanks indeed for the responses to this question. I've learnt a
lot from your comments. I've compiled a table of results, below,
although I'll update it if there are more replies. I've given my own
vote to the most popular lens (35-80/2.8) which I don't own but would
like to. In a couple of cases, I've had to guess at the aperture the
person meant, in order to add up the votes. I apologise if I've omitted
or misrepresented anyone.

Votes Lens Person

7 35-80mm/2.8 Gary Reese
7 35-80mm/2.8 Giles

1 85mm Thomas Clausen

(*) = guessed the aperture.

It seems zooms are the most popular (surprise!). I personally expected
35mm prime to be more popular than it turned out to be. I must admit
the question's not original . . . I got the idea from lurking on the
Leica Users Group (though I don't own a Leica M or R). My thinking was
probably influenced by seeing what the LUG members had to say - 35mm is
very popular with RF camera users but they're rather more limited in
their choice of lenses!

Regards,

=====
