I bought mine new in Aust about two years back. i think it was about 
$40 or so (about $20US) . It is still avail as a new item from John H 
for US$29 according to his web site.
The 18mm is such a rare (and expensive) lens, I didn't want to use 
mine without the adaptor for protection of that lovely front element 
while I waited for a S/H 49->72 adaptor to come up.
