Zuiko Auto-S means 'Standard', but 'S Zuiko' refers to the economy line of
zooms,
which includes 28-48/4, 35-70/3.5-4.5, 35-70/4, and 100-200/5, lenses, according
to R. Lee Hawkins

http://brashear.phys.appstate.edu/lhawkins/photo/olympus.faq.html.

The 35-70mm f/3.5-4.8 and 70-210mm f/4.5-5.6 Cosina Zooms are also labeled S
Zuiko.

:I understood that the "S" Zuiko designation meant a sort of low consumer
:grade lens. It appears that the 35-70 so beloved for its size is in this
:category. I don't have one, but I was wondering if I was right. Is that
:what the S is for?
