I just did a flash sync problem OM-4 that, at first, seemed to be IC
oriented. After pulling the front casting out to get B working, cleaning
the X contact, scraping the safety switch clean, and resoldering many
contacts, x and TTL flash came back to life.
So, while many OM-4 problems can be fixed, some can't, economically.

| I'm not so sure. As far as I know the OM-4s have been very reliable. True
some
| do suck down batteries, but in my experience not as fast as the OM2-S, and
you
| can get a used OM-4 for close to what it would cost to replace the
circuitry in
| a 4-T
