I've heard the claims that Wein cells last longer than ordinary zinc air cells, but I don't buy it. Mine was just an overpriced doodad made larger in diameter by a metal collar around what was likely an ordinary 675 hearing aid battery. It died within 3 months. If zinc air cells could be made to last longer, Duracell, Everready, et al, would be advertising a premium line of hearing aid batteries at somewhat higher prices.

I'd suggest buying the cheapest package of 4 or 6 hearing aid batteries you can find in size 675 - if you decide to stick with a zinc air battery - and let the spring pressure in the battery compartment hold it in place. Worked fine for my OM-1.

BTW, I didn't notice any gradual loss of metering accuracy. The battery simply worked one day and was dead next time I picked up the camera. I'd figure on giving 'em a month each, then replacing.

I'm currently using a Wein 1.35v zinc-air battery that is less than a month
old. I think it worked fine for a coupla weeks, but now the farther I set
the meter over 100 ASA, the more incorrect the light meter reading becomes...
