Okay, here is the partial responses to the problem you mentioned. For the
28-48 I notice similar problem as you, on the wide end the aperture is much
larger then the long end, I haven't check how many stops different, just
don't use external meter that would be fine.

For the 50/1.4 I didn't notice any over exposure for slides shot, but if you
are talking about 1/3 stop, I think I will not notice this small different
without side to side comparison.
