The problem, repeat, the problem, is the few people that have a tendency to
blast others then go back into hiding. Seems that most of the times we get
flaming started (James K's offering is the best example)is when someone who
hasn't been contributing regularly to the list decides to "even it all out
for everyone". Rarely do we get instances of this from regular
contributors.
Sorta like since we know folks, we are polite to them; but if we don't know
them, we can say just about anything.

I don't know an easy way to fix, this, but to ignore it. Like Joel stated,
it soon corrects itself. I don't necessarily vote for kicking those
offenders off the list, it usually takes care of itself.

But, there are some, likely newer members who want to make sure they have
full access to OM gear as well as answers and conversation. Best to let the
list take care of itself, by itself - my opinion.

Case in point, Tom Scales, in some people's minds went crazy buying gear and
messed up the market for some of us by doing his "project" in a very
organized and UNCONSTRAINED manner. Some folks didn't like this new guy
treading on their turf. So, when Tom began offering a few items to the
list, all hell breaks loose from a few members, in particular, ones we don't
often hear from. My jealousy of Tom aside (OK, call it envy), we lost a
resource when he decided not to offer to the list first because of the
beatings he was taking. Now, does that mean I won't sell to Tom now because
he doesn't offer to the list anymore? hmmm. Naw, I'd rather we'd be all one
family. Not always happy, but a family.

Recently, my brother got mad at me and won't talk any more. Bigger problem
was when he treated his sons the same way. His loss, not necessarily mine
or my nephews. We talk about my brother and other things in life, he only
talks to himself.

Best if we all act like grown-ups, even if we aren't. Best if we all hang
together.
