Yes, according to some dealers' ads I've seen in Pop Photography, the
G1/G2 *are* classed as P&S cameras, albeit expensive ones. To me, also,
they don't fit into any other category - certainly not rangefinders; as
you say, manual focusing sucks! Bit like "A camel = a horse designed by
a committee." (I'll now beat a hasty retreat before I get blasted by
the Contax-lovers around here ;-))
