I bought on impulse a Hanimex 'HiTec' f3.5 - 5.2 28-205mm one-touch "macro"
zoom last year. My initial results with 100 ASA film in a wooded park were
mixed, doubtless due to camera shake, but there were enough good ones to be
encouraging. I tried it again a few months ago with 400 ASA b&w film and the
results were very much better. The major problem is that while the 'macro'
mode will allow it to focus at around three feet at 205mm, minimum focus is
around nine feet at all other focal lengths. Oh, and I just couldn't seem to
focus at 28mm - I had to zoom in, focus, and zoom out again, trying not to
turn the focusing ring on the way.

With a fast film it would be quite useful poked through a window on
something like a train journey.

Keith Berry
