First impression:  Don't?  Vibrations aside, I would be afraid of the
camera actually being hit by the ball any place in the open near the
basket.  Although it might be comparatively safe if you could mount the
camera behind a glass backboard and shoot through it?  It would seem to
me that to avoid interfering with the game you would have to mount the
camera behind the plane of the backboard anyway, or well overhead.  Maybe
duct tape it to the ceiling?  ;-)  Reloading film could be a problem
depending on how and where you end up mounting it. (justification for a
250 film back?) This presents some interesting, but I'm sure,
surmountable problems.  If you try  it, let us know how it turns out.  I
imagine Sports Illustrated does this all the time, but their equipment
budget is probably a little bigger...........   ;-)   Good Luck
