No, the real problem with this test was that I bothered to post it to this
group at all. It seems that a select few have seen fit to plug in their own
version of how I did it all wrong while conviently forgetting a couple of
things. ONE, I did this for myself, and only thought to post results to
this group when, after the fact, I thought that they might interest people.
TWO, I did it with materials on hand, using film and developer that are
often combined exactly the way that I did it by more than a few schools and
arts councils. THREE, Changing an f-stop here or there would not have made
any difference to the real conclusion, which is the limitations of
non-skilled and semi-skilled eyes at greater than arm's length. Re-read
what I posted. All chose the MF over the 35mm stuff up close when scrutiny
was great, but had a harder time when pictures were moved out to wall
hanging distance. I think that's the real lesson here. It's about what non
photo-nerds perceive or don't perceive. It's probably also about
communication, but personally, I've just about given up on that.

I'd love to post some of these images but don't have a scanner, and have
internet access limited not so much by a slow modem, but by an even slower
small town service provider. It's been correctly pointed out that the
differences wouldn't likely be noticed on most monitors, anyway, and based
on what I typically see as scanned images, I'm tempted to agree.
