Garth and other memory monsters...

I don't suppose you would have some spare RAM would you for me to buy?

I am looking for 64Mb chips 168 pin DIM (5v, not 3.3) for my PowerMac 6500/300.

Don't feel you have to answer if you don't... and please answer to me offlist:

mailto:imagopus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks

Chris

Tom said it, I repeat: memory. LOTS and LOTS of memory. I've got 128
(P3/450) and after scanning a bunch of prints (flatbed) around 300dpi, it
chokes. Have to reboot. Use Ctrl-Alt-Del to stop any apps you don't need
(basically everything but Systray and Explorer). Defrag your hard drive
often. Vid card really don't matter.

Agreed about the memory (I have 512 Megs in my machine), but you can ameliorate the problem by immediately converting the image from a TIFF into a high-quality (Level 12 in Photoshop) JPEG. Lose some information? Yeah, but the image from most scanners is so big to begin with that it doesn't normally matter.
