I tend to agree with this. In fact as I recall, the edge performance
of my old 35/2.8 at full aperture was subjectively better than the F2
at 2.8.  I thought I had a bad sample of my 35/2, but maybe
not........

Here again, I always felt the performance of the 24/2.8 was exellent.
The F2 seemed a slight disappointment.
