Somehow Sam, you missed me too. I responded to the roll call a couple of days
ago.

I didn't originally post my current OM equipment. It consists of the
following: OM-1n(2), OM-2n, OM-4T, 28/2, 35-80/2.8, 50/1.4, 85-250/5,
350/2.8, 1.4xa, winders, cords, etc. Also own a Tamron 80-200/2.8. Because
of that, the 85-250 doesn't see much action anymore. It all started with an
OM-10 and a Vivitar 28-90/2.8 back in 1979. I couldn't afford an OM-2n then.
Still have the Vivitar, mostly for nostalgia.

Have owned many other Zuikos over the years, including a mint 40/2 which I
sold about 1.5 years ago for $200. I wasn't using it and I had no idea what
they were fetching at the time because I didn't know about this list and you
folks. Guess that was a dumb move. At least I didn't sell it for $40.

Just for the record, I have done a lot of wildlife photography over the years,
mostly in Alaska. Rarely if ever see anyone using OM equipment in the field
anymore. One significant OM user I remember vividly was Michio Hoshino, an
extremely talented pro photographer, naturalist, and a genuinely kind human
being. He and I shared breakfast over a campfire one very cool September
morning many years ago as I was photographing scenery and he was photographing
sandhill cranes at Wonder Lake in Denali Park. One of the things that struck
me was he was carrying a 350/2.8 among other Zuikos. Thats a tough lens to
backpack with for weeks on end, which is exactly what he was doing. He went
on to publish many wildlife and scenic photography books which are still
available, mostly Alaska themed, including childrens books. His prints are
still widely reproduced in magazines and calendars. Tragically, he was killed
by a brown bear about 4 years ago while photographing them on the Kamchatka
Peninsula, just west of the Aleutians. It got him in his tent.
